More information on Cullinan
Visit one of the largest, operational diamond producing mines in South Africa. The Premier Diamond Mine was started in the early 1900's by Thomas Cullinan. In 1905 the Cullinan Diamond was found (3106 carat) and was sent to Holland to be cut into 9 large stones and 96 smaller stones. The four largest of the nine stones are known as "the stars of Africa". All nine stones are owned by the British Royal Family. There are also many buildings of historic value still standing in the town of Cullinan, dating back from the early 1900's. This unique piece is history is an absolute must see!
