Nestled in the Magaliesberg Mountains only one hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria, the Elephant Sanctuary is situated in a malaria-free area. It is surrounded by natural indigenous bush which is typical habitat for elephants. The property is also home to impala, klipspringer, baboons, porcupine, caracal, leopard, a host of other small mammals, and about 350 bird species.

There is three Programs per day. The first starts at 08:00, be sure to be there 15 min before. 07:45 Arive at the projet and meet the elephants handlers. The handlers will introduce you to the elephants and tell you more about the african elephant and it's plight in the wild. Here you will get the chance to interact with the elephants and to walk hand in truck with them. At the night rooms the guide will show you where the elephants sleep and you will have the oppertunity to feed the elephants. For those that would like to ride a elephant and experience elephants at a diffrent level, this can be arranged at a additional fee. Walks are 15 min in duration. There is a 10am program as above and a 2pm program as above. |
